I'm not going to show this to my wife. I know she will go out in her beloved 940 and try to prove the test wrong.
 
I've seen this before, and it freaked me out a bit since I drive a 740 estate. Thinking about it a bit more, it actually doesn't surprise me.

Keep in mind that safety has come a long way in 20 or so years (more if you consider that the 700/900 series was developed with technology from 30 years ago.) Would I give up my Volvo based on the results of this test? No way! There are plenty of other cars still on the road that would fare much worse in a similar accident.
 
I'd STILL rather be in The Mighty Valdez-V-10, 4WD, Y2K Ford Excursion, 7500 lbs, than any of the Pregnant Roller Skates out there...
 
Can we see a modern full size vehicle against that Modus? My Caddy STS would punt that thing across the lot, and I'd walk away from the crash.
