Fighting the Flu

Wireworm5

Audiophile
As I posted previously I started feeling sick last Monday at work after sitting beside another staff member for a few minutes. He was obviously sick and had gotten it from his family. I thought right away oh oh, sure as heck by midnight I had a dry throat and fever. By Wednesday when I was suppose to go back to work I was real sick. My ears where ringing, eyes watering, stuffy nose, fever. I was in no condition to listen to the stereo, so I phoned in sick and spent the day watching pre-recorded documentaries.
I starting taking mega doses of Vitamin C on Monday since I believe the body uses it to fight infection and can use all it can get. Put Vicks vapor rub on my throat and take a sniff of Vicks inhaler occasionally when I need a buzz.
Thursday I was feeling a little better. My ears had opened up enough that I could enjoy listening to the stereo. But still to sick to concentrate on dealing cards for 8 hours, so another phone call to work. By Friday I was feeling about 90% and went back to work. Wow! I had licked this thing in 4 days. Not so fast, by Monday when I was to begin my holidays, this flu has now tranformed too Streb throat, great! The good news is I can still do critical audio listening , but the bad news is I feel too crappy to start the spring cleaning I had planned on for this week.
So I think I'll just kick back and enjoy another day of critical audio listening and maybe by tomorrow I'll feel energetic enough to get off my ass. :worried:

this just pisses me off...not so much your experience[well ok yeah if it was me it would!],but a co-worker coming in sick and spreading it around, now i know in many situations people don't get sick days and taking even unpaid ones is frowned upon...but fer christs sake!if you're sick keep your contagious ass at home!

it's my never ending hope that management types will one day recognize the effect and send sick people home so that they don't contaminate the rest of the workforce...my all time personal favourite is going to my local coffee shop and having one of the overworked/underpaid girls tell me she's sick and feels awful while serving me food...mmmm yeah...thanks for sharing with the general public we'd all like to have it too...f*>?in people!

I couldn't agree more,I beg co-workers to go home. Most people will sneeze and blow their nose and never wash their hands. We are in the Health field people!!.
I had the cold\flu back in Febuary,I took 4 days off and went to the doctor and got an RX for Zithromax.
Bosses don't recognize martyrdom, they see it as an advantage when a sick employee drags her\his ass to work
