Finally an audio "score", I think...

I wasn't really looking for more audio equipment (well... you know how that goes) but ran across a local classified that piqued my interest. Decided to make the 40-mile trek to pick up the items. I got the following for $300:

1. Denon DP-45F turntable with Ortofon OM20 cartridge (w/ very dirty stylus).
2. Two additional OM20 stylii (aka "Stylus 20") in original Ortofon packaging. One marked "Old", the other unmarked and seems to be unused.
3. Pair of ADS L880 speakers in great shape.
4. Carver M-200t Magnetic Field Power Amplifier.
5. Carver C-2 Preamplifier.

Plus the usual Diskeeper brush, fluids, and stylus brush; some toss-in speaker wire; manuals for everything; etc.

I was mostly interested in trying the ADS speakers... but the Carver amp and pre-amp and the Denon turntable are nice companions. :)

The turntable is in very nice condition, with the exception of the installed stylus. I replaced it with the spare, and will eventually try to clean the original. I do need to adjust the set-down position slightly (it's a full-auto model), but that's all. Only light marks on the dust cover.

I haven't hooked up the Carver amp or pre-amp yet... just the turntable and speakers.

Spend $300 today on new and you get a mid-fi HT rig. What you snagged is far above mid-fi...well done!

So what do I have around here that you'd like to trade for that Denon?

I mean, you didn't really want the silly thing anyhow :smoke:

I have that same TT and I like it, Fully automatic but has many other manual functions also that are really cool.

Push the lifter , move to desired song press 33 and it drops or Press lifter while its playing then press one of the arrow < > buttons to move it to desired place then press lifter again to drop it down.

Hopefully you got a owner's manual with it/ If not I may be able scan it for ya.

Thanks. The seller had the original Denon owners manual, so I'm good to go there. And there's always Vinylengine.com for when the originals aren't available. :)
