Finally building a SAE system

Okay confession time Dualref. When I started this adventure the plan was a awesome system for the home shop. At home I do a lot of Italian motorcycle resto-work (personal interest). And jamm'n out really makes it fun. So the minimum square footage means Bose 901's hanging from the ceiling is a perfect option. But!, a really cool AK member offered up a SAE 2600 amp.... I can not possibly put a 2600 in the shop. So that offering changed every thing. Now I am building two systems. The shop system, I will build a bad-a$$ rack to mount everything in. A system will be built around the 2600 and that will be in the man cave down stairs. That system will have ideally some SAE series 7 speakers. The turntable budget... under 500.00
 
Well, you won't have the best acoustics in a garage, that's for sure. Plus the dampness in the air, etc. I'd probably put something like a Pioneer SX-something out there or a Kenwood int amp.
I'd do as you are thinking, reserve the SAE equipment for the man cave.
For some strange reason, I seem to remember an SAE turntable at one time. It wouldn't have been made by SAE, but was a Sony or Pioneer type of clone or perhaps made by either of those companies with the SAE name on it.
Maybe one of the SAE guys on here can help me with my memory.
 
I will chase down the idea of a SAE turntable. I think I remember a SAE turntable too but could not be certain. I thought it had a weighted table and was rather simplistic looking. As for the shop, its a real shop. insulated, ventilated and very dry. Its in-between the garage and the house entry. In fact its warmer then the house in the winter.LOL!!

But I have been chasing the P500 and the A1001 for some time now.
