Hello from Philadelphia, PA, USA. I've wanted a "proper" stereo system for a long time, but because of other priorities I used my computer and a good sound card as my audio system. A few weeks ago, I finally set up the Pioneer PL-400 turntable that my father bought new in 1980. I have it and a Sony CDP-491 going into a pair of Edifier R1280DBs for now, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Yeah, I know: "them little Edifiers are toys. That ain't no 'system.'" I understand the limitations of 4-inch speakers, and the Edifiers are temporary. Make no mistake, though, these are quite nice 4-inch speakers. I had a Sony STR-DH190 receiver and bigger speakers for a couple of weeks, but returned them. For now, I'm growing a classic rock, blues, and classical LP collection while I research my upgrade options. As I embark on this journey, I thought I'd join the discussion at AudioKarma. Looking forward to it.
