Finally, Sansui G8000 restored

Because the server, where the pictures were located, is down, I am going to copy the post where I was talking about ground connection in G8000, but this time with uploaded pictures here on AK, so....

BTW, here I wish to show you only one modification what I made in that receiver. You know that at beginning of some restoration, you should decide will you make only restoration or you will make some modifications too. On that receiver, I decided to do only restoration, but one thing, Sansui did on bad way. To correct that Sansui mistake, I have had a big help from another Croatian member ilimzn.

So first about what I am talking here;
There, I am talking about connections of main capacitors. You know that G8000 has 4 pcs of 6800uF capacitors per channel, and that is very good, but Sansui made a mistake how they are connected. First of all, wire of ground is so long! Second, wires of power supply and wires of power stage are connected into one point.

So, we need to separate pair of power supply capacitors from capacitors of power stage, and make better ground wiring.
I did that job on the next way:

As you can see, pair of power supply capacitors I connected with pair of power stage capacitors by solid wire in Teflon insulation trough ferrite to protect power stage against HF noises.

I repaired/serviced a G-8000 a while back and found all of the Power supply filters bad to the point that each one was reading 3500 uf or less for each one. The symptoms were that the unit had very little "punch" when you cranked it. At first I thought that maybe I was looking at the wrong way and maybe the dual caps in parallel should read 6800uf in "Total". But confirming from the schematic and marking on original caps they each should be 6800uf. I installed al new 6800uf and now each pair read as 13,600 uf. Cranked the unit and the "Punch was back". I have worked on a lot of units but never saw a situation such as this where all filter caps (all 8) degraded and now only had 50% capacitance remaining
