OK, it's been a while since I've had my "big" system up. For various reasons, I took it down a few years ago and have been running smaller systems in its place. The main reason was due to the fact that toddlers and 6' tall Magnepans don't mix real well. Well, the toddler is no longer a toddler, but it was hard to get things back up due to W.A.F. reasons.
Well, I decided to put my foot down -that's a bit easier to do when your living room somehow accumulates 3 different systems and you tell her that you're going to 'consolidate'.
In that time, I added a few new components, so my system has changed slightly. The biggest change has been speakers. I was not able to get the Maggies back up -they are being saved for when the man-cave gets completed.
Oh, and I wanted to put my Thorens TD-126MkII up, but my Revox was developing a 'tackiness' to the finish, so I felt I needed to remove it from the inherent humidity (yes, I do have a de-humidifier) of the basement.
I did have to make a couple of compromises -the speakers are normally in the corner (and...
...one is actually behind a chair) and they have "thingies" on top. But, as seen in the pic, they are easy to move and this furniture arrangement is somewhat temporary anyway -due to change when the LCD TV is mounted above the fireplace (in the hopeully near future).
For those of you younger folk, every last piece of this system was purchased used -some from the late high-end store I worked at (purchased at cost), some from an aquaintance, some from Craigslist and some from Thrifts.
