Ender

Computer Geek to the core
Thursday last week my brother shows up to visit after work. He drops a large bag on my desk and tells me to see what I can do with it. On opening the bag I find a large lump of aluminum and a smaller rectangle. See he scrapes metal for a living and he pulled these out for me knowing my affinity for older gear.

So after spending an hour cleaning it up and getting the dirt and whatever off of it I find myself in the possession of a slightly beaten M15 power amp and its matching C15 preamp. I got it set up where I can work with it, plug in my trusty HPM 100's and my Creative Zen as a source. Checked everything and hit play on the Zen... then was confused, I had to check that it was this lil amp powering my HPM's as my much larger and beefier Technics was nearby. On finding it was in fact the Toshiba set not the Technics I added some volume and waited to hear it sound like it was gonna give up.

Today my technics amp is on the shelf and this lil set is running the HPM's full time. but I wish I could find out more about this lil beast as I can't seem to find out much about it. Really nice piece of kit, even if my example has been beat up a bit and apparently thrown around (literally).

I think it will have a future on my desk as the amp to power my computer speakers(as yet unchoosen, maybe some ideas could be thrown out for those too). I think I may be in love but only time will really tell there. Crisp clean sound with no hiss or hum or any other sort of general annoyance.

As I said I can't seem to find any info about this lil set but I wonder if one of you might no what its packing. Also I wonder where in Toronto I can take it to have it looked over and maybe refreshed, it has some cosmetic damage from being thrown around, however it would be my guess inside its still fine, I would just like to know for sure.

I was looking through power amps on ebay, there were many pages to look through, I was bored so I looked through all of them, and way back there was a really cute small Toshiba amp/pre/tuner for sale, the top of the amp had a circular cooling vent I think, anyway I googled toshiba amps and nothing on e-bay showed up. Do you have a pic?

I found some pics online as my camera is not working right now, I don't have the matching tuner and mine isn't nearly as pretty as this set because mine has been a bit beat on.

They sound amazing, I don't have the vocabulary to describe them but I am gonna leave it at amazing.

Hi Ender! I would look at the damage as battle scars, well earned, why someone would throw out nice things like that who knows? show 'um and play them proudly!
