Last Friday I answered a Craigslist ad for "Pioneer HPM speakers". When I asked him what the model # was, he responded with CSA ... I politely informed him that those were not HPM's and I wasn't interested. Thank god he had caller id. 10 minutes later he calls me back. His wife had a set of HPM 100's in the closet and she was willing to sell them.
9 minutes later I'm looking at the speakers. The cabinets are 8.5 out of 10. The grille cloth is "fuzzy" on both of them. The dust covers are pushed in on both woofers. For $100 I figure I could always part them out, so I don't even hook them up.
Fired them up today. They sound as good as the ones I bought new and still have. My kid will be getting them for Xmas. Now he will quit bugging me to give him mine!
