I'm trying my luck here as well
The first thing to mention - I'm a hobbyist with some electronic knowledge, not a professional, please bear with me
I've got this boombox last year, after cleaning it, replacing belts, and cleaning pots/switches it played pretty well. The only issue I had was a lower playback level from tapes (radio works fine), although the sound was pretty good - not muffled or random, just lower than it should be.
I decided to do a complete calibration following the service manual. While doing it, I tried to adjust the Bias OSC coil to 54.5 kHz. The coil screw hole was blocked with a sort of a sealer, trying to penetrate it I probably damaged the coil - no current is flowing now from the coil out to the heads in a recording mode.
Aiwa didn't mention any specific values for this coil, just its name, and part number:
Bias OSC coil, part number 82-418-612-01.
I wonder if there are any standard/generic OSC coils that might work or is it a proprietary component?
