Finishing up AR 2ax restoration

I just finished up the first of a pair of 2ax's I got for $10. I refoamed the woofer, replaced the tweeter with the PE HiVi Q1R dome plus parallel 0.05 mh inductor and modified the crossover using 8 ohm L-Pads and a 25 ohm midrange attenuator. I also stripped the old finish and applied Watco Danish walnut stain. First I would have to say the bass is nothing less than phenomenal. I don't have my L-100's hooked now but it seems the AR has much more deep low end. Per someone's suggestion I used a Boston Acoustic fillet foam. Even with the 25 ohm resistor across the midrange pad, the midrange is still hot and has to be turned below the midpoint. The tweeter has very low output even turned all the way up.

Is the inductor mean't to modify the response curve or the level of the tweeter? Since the midrange does not have a low pass inductor, how much overlap in response should I expect. I would appreciate any comments about the need for the tweeter inductor. I hate to remove the tweeter and clip out the inductor until I get some user feedback.

Thanks

Shoot Roy C. "Conversation". He's done a bunch of mods with the Hivi's.
