Over the past few weeks, I've been working on putting together my first setup. After getting advice and doing some research with a tight budget, I think I’ve got it done and wanted to hear your thoughts or advice
  • Receiver: Pioneer SX-535 - $150. Great condition according to a vintage audio repair guy. It was deoxed and calibrated before purchase.
  • Turntable: Dual 1237 - $125. Everything seems to be working as expected, with only minor blemishes.
  • Speakers: These were the hardest to find. I wanted quality but didn’t have the budget to splurge, especially for my first setup. I figured I’d upgrade as I learn more about the sound I like. I ended up scoring not two, but FOUR JBL J2050s in near-mint condition for $50. I know they’re not the flashiest, but I couldn’t pass up the deal.
