Oh yeah I definitely want a pair of floorstanders. I'm looking through the craigslist around here and have found a few speakers but like I said I dont know too much.

Many great deals to be had and you would be helping to

Yeah I didn’t see much on your local cl.

I have ADS L630's. They are a nice size speaker, 10" woofer. You need to put them on milk cartons or short stands. Any of the ADS speakers are wonderful, just look for the larger ones.
Other great speakers:
Dynaco A25
Any by Klipsch
Vandersteen
Polk
DCM Timeframe 700, 1000, 2000
Any of the above will be in your budget.

Hello! I just found some TF 1000's near me and I've heard good things. What's everybody's opinion including yours?

I have the TF700's and I love them! I first heard the prototypes at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in 1986. I walked into the room and they started playing Amanda McBroom singing "The Rose." It sounded like she was right there in the room! I was totally blown away by how natural they sounded. I waited for the first production run to hit the store. I must have called them a couple times a week. They came in and I bought mine.A friend went with me to hear them and he bought a pair also. Both of us still have them. They work well with any kind of music and seem to work well in any shape or size room. The bass is very solid. The TF-700 goes down to 30 Hz. The TF-1000 goes down to 28 Hz, I think. That's the main difference between the TF-700 and TF-1000. I have a friend that bought his TF-1000 new and still has them.
