First time dac user

I have Fiio Dac D03K. This is all new to me so I know nothing about this, so what I like to do is connect my computer to a receiver and listen to youtube and tunein radio from the receiver with my headphones. The dac has one RCA and a Optical cable input, the computer don't have RCA or Optical at all. So how do I connect this?. As is you can listen to it it sound so bad, yet I connect it to my phone it sound great. Thanks

You need a USB DAC for HiFi sound if your computer has none of the connexions your DAC is made for.

There are lot of different options, XMOS XU208 is one of them but if you want budget one you can look for SA9023

Or a Stereo Jack 1/8" to RCA Y Splitter cable if you vant Mid Fi sound for cheap option.

My present favourite DAC is a Topping D50s with a 5V linear power supply from L.K.S Audio model LPS-25-USB , but I read about uncertain Coaxial input signal losses, his only problem ?

I didn't test the Coax input.

His USB input sound is awesome.

If allowed, (Not affiliated) eBay item 124801498650 has a Headphone output, so you don't even need to connect a receiver for your headphones.

Also has RCA outputs for the receiver

it's a SA9023 USB input DAC

I own one of these and this is a great little piece of equipment.

Since my Topping D10s and D50s has no headphones output, I use this DAC with my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro 64 Ohms without issue, and sound is great.

Your computer very likely has a DAC and headphone output. Given the lossy compression used by YouTube and TuneIn radio stations, you may not notice the low quality of the computer's DAC.

Your Fiio has SPDIF digital audio inputs. To feed it from your computer, you will need a USB to SPDIF adaptor; search for one. Then you will need to direct your computer audio to that USB audio device.

Or just buy a USB DAC...
