I shot everything wide open at an f/1.4 aperture, so that's how I got the shallow DOF. As far as post work goes, I just tinkered with the tones a little in Photoshop, and added a little brightness (curves and dodging), as the originals were a little underexposed.

In all seriousness, I'll bet that sounds every bit as good as it looks. I don't know what to tell you about your cartridge and stylus, but I can tell you about what's going on with your speakers and receiver.
Technics is simply trying to say that you can use speakers with an impedance of 4 to 16 ohms if you only ever plan to play one set at a time. Yet if you plan to play two sets at a time, you need to use speakers that specify at least an 8 ohm impedance. Otherwise, the amplifier might burn out or fail. I think you'll be fine as long as your speakers all claim an 8 ohm impedance rating. This set places the speakers in parallel with each other when all are switched on. As such, the impedance drops with all four speakers running.

Thanks for spelling it out like that. This is exactly how I was interpreting everything, so it feels good to know all my forum-digging paid off. I'm certain the Minimus 7w are 8 ohm. I can't hardly find anything on the Coquette speakers (or much on the Aztec Sound Corporation for that matter), but every Aztec I've seen so far has been 8 ohms. Another pair that looked identical to my 2-ways were 8 ohms. They all seemed to be designed in a similar fashion, so I've concluded (with hope) that mine were also 8 ohms. I don't have any meter to test them, and I can't even find a safe way to get the rear off. I've been running both in parallel for the past few days and the receiver hasn't even showed a single sign of stress, so I'm even more inclined to believe the Aztecs are also 8 ohms.
The power light works (what you see in the picture), and the radio signal bulb works. The one that's burnt out is the brightest one that's mounted to the top of the radio needle.
