Fisher 400 Aux overload point

I read that the Aux input of the Fisher 400 is rated at 280 mV for rated output.

Does anyone know the overload point ? I ask because the Squeezebox receiver I have connected to the Aux port is rated at 1.7V line out --- I have been hearing no bad sound at full output from the squeezebox to the Fisher -- I do not want to damage any delicate circuits..

Remote allows me to change the output of the squeezebox -- should I lower the gain to say 60/100 ?

If you can vary the output level, what I'd do is set the volume to a reasonable level in tuner mode. Flip it to the squeezebox and adjust the output on the squeezebox to have approximately the same volume level the tuner plays at. Or if you play records more, same idea but using the turntable as the reference level.

it won't damage anything, about the worst that will happen is you might overdrive it and produce some extra distortion. Also likely to make the volume control annoyingly touchy.

thanks - makes perfect sense... it really sounds great ..looks like 75/100 works well
