Fisher 400 Speaker Decision

So I keep my eye on FB marketplace and Craigslist for speakers to buy pretty much non-stop. I currently have a set of Pioneer CS-66a, Advent Large and Infinity RSe's. I am working on a 400 right now and was curious about some speakers that have come available.

There is currently a set of Klipsch Forte 1s, Heresy 1s and Bozak 302a urbans for sale in my area. I know a guy who has a set of pristine JBL C37's for sale but they are too rich for my blood right now but I really like the look so the Bozak's interested me but I am really looking to get the best sound out of the 400 I can. Listen to mostly 70's and 80's rock but also a lot of delta blues.

Any thoughts on those?

I’ll throw my 2 cents in. Many folks will poopoo the Klipsch, but I think when paired with tubes they are pretty darn nice. Careful though with buying old speakers, they may need work.

The Forte's are bone stock and in almost brand new original condition. Owner is an older gentleman that took good care of them. The Heresy's are owned by a guy who owns the whole heritage line and is familier with them. He recapped them and changed the speaker connection to banana plugs. The Bozaks have had the Torbin mod. So all of these have been worked on except the Forte.

I have Fisher a 400's running Forte 1 with Titanium tweeter mod and Sonicap upgrade and another 400 pushing Pioneer HPM-100. The horn loaded Forte's blow the HPM-100'S out of the water. The HPM-100'S have been recapped to.

I built another pair of Forte 1 with Crites cross-overs and they too eclipse the HPM-100'S.

My amps/recievers are;
Fisher 400, X-100-3, X-101st

The Forte sound best with all models.

I listen to mostly 70's and Classical.

Good point. If only I knew how to move it....
Just use "Report" button at the bottom of your post and request a moderator to move it, if that's where you's prefer to have it. Please do not start a duplicate thread..
