After all but giving up trying to get my fisher 90-r working I came across this 4000-r beauty on the bay. No mention of it working but I took a chance on it anyway. Lucky for me it was working beautifully. Someone had already replaced some coupling caps with orange drops (thanks random person) so all I had to do was replace the electrolytics and one bad 6au6. Removed the faceplate and dial glass to clean them and replaced the oddball burnt out backlights with LEDs. It is gorgeous and matched great with my MPX-100 I had been sitting on. I’m assuming the 4000-r is a console version of the 101-r but the very similar looks and lack of feet. It has a very thick faceplate, thicker than my 90-r and possibly more resistant to corrosion that plagues these
By the way if anyone is looking for one, he has another 101-r which I think is a 4000r because it looks just like this one for sale on eBay now (7/10/2024) for what I think is a very good price.
