Electrical Engineer here with 25+ years experience. Been doing software in the electric utility supplier business for large SCADA systems. Currently a Project Engineer. All of what we do is software for big electric power.
Given enough time I could come up with a design and the code. My problem is that my time isn't my own and I'm not best in electronics. That's why I depend on Dave G for his extensive knowledge.
The other part is to learn the Arduino. Shouldn't be hard to learn, but takes time that I don't have. I even have an Arduino that I bought with great intentions to put together a home power monitoring system. Never found the time.
