Fisher 800B- What's it worth?

I found someone selling an unrestored Fisher 800B receiver with what appears to be a multiplexer installed for $425; it appears to work fine, the tuning eyes work and it plays back signals with no problem. The faceplate is pretty tarnished, but other than that it appears to be in good shape.

I'm thinking about buying it, but I've got a KX-200, and I almost never listen to FM radio (and only occasionally AM), so I'm not sure it'd be worth it to me.

If the face were nice and the unit otherwise worked, $425 isn't a terrible price, but not great either. If the face is significantly tarnished I would move on, or negotiate the price down. Reselling will be tough to do if the face is bad looking. eBay closed auctions show a price of $149 (without tubes) to $256. If you have a cabinet add $75 to $100 more. Good luck.

$425 is too much if the faceplate is bad. Since you hardly ever listen to FM, and FM is what the 800B is all about, I'd question the money.

Especially since you have a KX-200, which is a very sweet amp. I've got two.

They're sleepers!:thmbsp:
