I just picked up a Fisher 90T that is in perfect cosmetic condition but will need servicing. I am planning on ordering a coordinating MPX 100 amp. I need help understanding how this works. I know the 90T is mono and I think the MPX100 will allow the tuner to play in stereo? Is it possible to hook up additional components that can/will play in stereo (ie: turntable, streamer, cd)? It looks like all of the inputs are mono. Before I invest in the restoration work, I want to understand what capabilities are. I have read other threads and watched a few videos but I need a clear direct answer. Can it place sources in stereo and how do I hook them up? Thank you!!! I am excited for my first tube experience, until now I have only had vintage solid state with some modern digital source units to go with the vintage.

I'm not familiar with a 90T, but yes, the Fisher MPX-100 is a FM multiplex adapter and it will play FM stereo. Except it will only work if the 90T has a multiplex out. (It's a RCA cable from the MPX Out on the tuner to the MPX In on the adapter.)
That said, I don't want to ruin any plans to order a MPX-100. Those are pretty hard to come by especially one that works. (There is also the Fisher MPX-200 that does the same job.)

Michael, while I have absolutely no useful info for you, I just want to say that I am really jealous of your 90T acquisition! About a g’zillion years ago my very first ‘serious’ Hi-Fi stuff was a 90T tuner-preamp and an 80AZ power amplifier. I loved, loved, loved that great equipment and still have nostalgic fantasies about finding a nice 90T one of these days. So, congratulations of your find, I hope it gives you years of delight!

Thank you but (not to run it in) my acquisition was free. A customer of mine needs to unload her husbands old equipment and I was helping her do that. She gave me the 90T, I purchased a Rek-o-kut b12 turntable but I could afford her nice pieces. Two McIntosh tube mono blocks, vintage. And a Marantz 7T preamp. Some lucky person will get those.
You can find 90T and the matching mpx 100 on eBay.

I think your best bet is to understand what it is that you have first.
The MPX 100 is not an "amp" as noted in post #2, here's the OEM user manual for you to better understand what it can and can't do.

The 90T is a stand alone AM/FM Tuner with Pre-Amp capabilities in order to use it you will need a separate Power Amp to connect to.
As it is Mono you will need to connect it to a Mono amp
Do you have a Mono amp? if not do you plan on purchasing one?

Stereo equates to a Left & Right or channel A & B, note on your 90T that there is only one connection as opposed to (just as an example) the X202 which is Stereo

The 90T is a mono tuner with preamp capabilities.
The MPX-100 is only an adapter for the tuner.
I don’t have a mono amp. I really wanted a stereo tube pre amp that I could connect to a power amp (tube or solid state) as my first adventure with tubes. The 90T was given to me free as a gift so I haven been trying to figure out how to use it and build from it. Not sure if it will give me what I am looking for?

Just so you know wasn't trying to rain on your parade, I just was trying to clarify what it is you have and what it does.
Not much to be sure or unsure about, it's meant for Mono aka as 1 channel listening, the MPX will allow for Stereo when listening to AM/FM so ask yourself how often are you listening to the radio.
If it were me I would pass the 90T on to someone who is still into Mono, and then focus on finding a Stereo Tube pre-amp.
That is exactly the clarity in an answer I was looking for. I mostly stream and play vinyl and some cd’s. Zero radio. I’ll probably sell the 90T and look for a stereo hybrid tube amp, modern or vintage. The rest of my gear is 70’s Yamaha and Klh but want to try tubes for a different listening experience. Maybe with horn speakers (possibly vintage Klipsch). Thank you very much for your guidance! I do have a fisher console I am going to restore. It has a stereo solid state receiver that supposedly sounds very tube like. We’ll see.
The first stereo preamp Fisher made was the model 400C. They also manufactured the models 100T and 202T. Both are stereo preamps with built in AM and FM tuners, and both had provisions for installing an internal FM Multiplex adapter at a later date after the FCC announced which multiplexing format it decided to go with.
