Fisher Cr-4025. It won't record and I'm not sure why. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but the VU meters don't light up (the needles work themselves work properly) and the input level knobs don't seem to be doing anything but I'm not very knowledgeable about tape decks.

Does it work in FF, RW, or Play mode? Do you have it connected properly with 4 cables? Did it work previously? Are the tabs in the blank tape intact?
