can i connect this cassette deck to a CA-26 amplifier? i know on the back of the amplifier it says something about only connecting a CR-W26 cassette deck to the CA-26 amplifier but the CR-W34HA cassette deck has the exact same connection plug as the CR-W26 has.

I am asking this cause the CR-W26 cassette deck doesnt work and my CR-W34HA cassette deck does work but my amplifier for the CR-W34HA doesnt work it blew up on me last week so i got another Fisher stereo system which has the CA 26 amplifier and the CR-W26 cassette deck that doesnt work.

I want to know if the CA 26 amplifier will blow up if the CR-W34HA cassette deck is connected to it

The reason for the caution is that the amplifier supplies ALL the power for the cassette deck. Check BOTH decks for voltage(actual voltage and AC or DC)and amperage requirements. If the same it shouldn't be a problem.

Usually these sets are low voltage AC or DC sets at the cassette deck and tuner. And different voltages between models is possible. So make absolutely sure of the voltage itself and whether it's AC or DC and matches the requirements. USE of a VOLT METER is Mandatory.

well on the back of the new amplifier and the old amplifier where the cassette decks connect they both said 16V 150ma. So does that mean that the cassette deck that works will work on the second stereo system.
