Fisher Electra IV

Hi - I just picked up a Fisher Electra IV for $80  and this thing is T-riffic! Only problem I can find (aside from the updating that will need to occur at some point re: capacitors, etc.) is that the Garrard 210 need a cleaning/re-greasing. Can anyone tell me how this amp - 440-t/440-a is rated for power output in comparison with a Fisher 400? It is surrounded by junk in my garage at present so I can't get a good photo but it looks just like the one here - http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/fisher_custom_electra_iv_440_t44.html

External speakers hooked up sound good, also.

It's a close call on the power output. It's definately gonna sound different as the speakers are in an open cab. You can connect extensions and it'll sound like a different unit. It won't sound like a 400, but it WILL sound good.

Get it recapped, (the usual suspects) and clean and relube the TT. Then kick back and enjoy.

Thanks Larry! I'm probably going to have to wait until miniman82 is done with the Sansui 1000A before getting this one worked on. But it is dead quiet and everything seems to function flawlessly, so I'm hoping I can use it a bit before the necessary work is done. Pretty cool how the AM and FM tuners are separate knobs. And the tuner already works better than almost everything else I currently have, so it may stay in the garage for the summer and get some duty there.
