Fisher KX-200

Freo-1

Well-Known Member
I am the proud new owner of a Fisher KX-200. :thmbsp:

The unit is in excellent shape. (Got the manual with it too!)

What's the go with this unit? I almost got a Scott 299C, but went for this instead.

I thought this would be worth getting.

I have one or two of those myself. The K indicates that this one was a kit. The thing to remember is, even though that thing is a beauty and looks like new, the old capacitors are way past their prime. It will sound good like it is, but no where near as good as it will after a "freshening up". The little built in bias/balance meter, actually works very good too.:thmbsp: You got a real keeper there, good luck with it.:music:

Yes, very nice. I have one too. Mine is in good condition now. One of the switches had been broken by a blunt force blow. I robbed one from a parted out 800B Fisher.

Mine picked up a hum in the preamp section and I have not had time to check it out yet. Enjoy!

Oh yes, how right you are.

I'm sending the unit to my buddy (who is a local legand) to re-cap and tune up the unit.

I've always read about how great the Fisher 500's sound, so I wanted to get that feel without worrying about the tuner.
