Fisher MT-6330 turntable platter problem

Just unpacked old Fisher MT-6330 turntable. We forgot to use the screws provided for transport. The platter now scrapes the base of the unit when turned on. Any easy way to fix this? Would love to listen to some vinyl. Thanks

The platter may have gotten jammed down onto the spindle during shipment. or the spindle may have gotten out of alignment or bent. Try to remove the platter from the spindle. (take off the rubber mat, then pull using 2 of the holes that are 180* from each other. Pull straight up) Then take a Roofing square and check to see if the spindle is 90* to the base at the cardinal points (N,S,E,W). If it is, ease the platter back on the spindle and turn on, see if it rubs still. This has one of those linear motors so be very careful of the underside of the platter.
