Fisher RS 1080 fried my KSF10.5 left speaker

️ Good day guys, hope you are doing great and safe.

So, here is the story, i turned on the beast and immediately the speaker burning sound started... On left speaker, on amp side there was no smoke or smell, at least not noticeable.

Right channel works normal.

Left speaker burned the woofer of the tower but not the twitter. Did the test woth other pair of speaker i had and it also burned left channel woofer only twitter still works

Any idea what could be happening here?

On the last test it could feel like it was struggling to start.

Any ideas if there is a place to get a recap kit for this amp?

Or parts, maybe the whole set of boards.

Do not power up the receiver until a tech works on it.

Sounds like the "Protect relay" was defeated.

It should have never damaged your speakers.

Get your service manual at www.hifiengine.com

One channels transistors have shorted and has gone DC.

This is a complicated repair for experts only, Sorry.

It's very complicated receiver and it already appears someone messed with the protection circuit.

So it has two problems.

Hello @Buck Rogers good day, i will ask for your help again, you think since the amp fried my KSF 10.5 SPEAKERS DRIVERS, the crossover is also damaged? I thinking on getting the drivers replacement but if i have to do the crossover also, it gets too expensive i guess. Greetings!!
