Hey guys I posted this in the fisher forum and got no action so I thought I"d try here. I just scarfed this receiver for a song and was wondering what I had, best I can tell its 150wpc. It is a bigun, about the size of my pioneer sx 1080, I'm pretty stoked about the size too cause I usually run into the small ones. At 150 watts I guess it would be in the league of the sx1250/80, I have both of those units in the lineup now. Will this fisher pack the same punch as my pioneer"s ? what will be the difference in the boards opinion. Thanks, Roost

I will get my daughter to when she gets home. It is big I tell ya, cant wait to put it up against my pioneers, I'm sure it needs a full recap. I was just gonna check with the board to see if its worth putting the money and time in, it is in good shape, just missing a couple knobs on the control arms of the eq. Fixin to pull the cab off and blow it out inside, then get the simple green and go to work on the face.....Roost

The Fisher forum is pretty much stuff made during the Avery Fisher era which would be pre-1969 when he sold the company. This is the proper forum for your equipment.
 
"Studio Standard" is good. But I'm partial to these Giants anyway. Do a search using Google searching AK and info should come up. There's Fisherdude and others that have a fairly good sense of these receivers and shed some light on the Fisher lineup. I know the RS 1060 and 1080 are the flagships of the SS line but there is more to it.

I have a soft spot for some of the lesser regarded SS receivers but really like the Fishers. Hope you do to! The Fisher forum here is geared more toward the tube enthusiasts than the SS.
 
My Fisher RS-1060 seemed to have more power than my Pioneer SX-1050, especially when driving 4-ohm loads (in my case, 2 sets of speakers at the same time). The RS-1060 is only 120 or 125wpc, so 150wpc from the same lineage should be pretty amazing.

Chris Brown, thanks for the input man, I have all the pioneer sx"s from the 6"s through the 12"s. This fish should be about the same as the 12"s as far as power, its not as heavy though. I cant wait to A/B em and see whats up, I"ll stack the two receivers so I can switch out the speaker wires in a minute or two and keep the sound fresh in my mind. We will be runnin through La Scala"s so the sky"s the limit here, I do know the 1250 hooked up now is amazing through the klipsch.....Roost
