Fisher Speaker - M135 Midrange circa 1962

I'm looking for a nice mid-sized midrange/full-range speaker and came across a pair of Fisher M135 (M-135) 5 inch speakers.

The appear to be 8 ohm speakers, but not much else is known.

Does anyone have any specs on these speakers such as frequency response and power handling? I would suspect they would be high sensitivity given their vintage and application.

*laugh* ....probably true :)

I haven't bought them yet, but if I do I'll see what I can determine. It will probably be subjective though as I don't have the tools to do a frequency analysis very effectively, etc.

Ah, very good. I suspect(guess) the seller may be going from the speaker date code, so maybe the speakers were made before the actual introduction of the Electra VI? ...or maybe just a mistake. Hard to say.

Here's an additional question though: If one looks at the Electra service manual I linked, you will see on page 10 that it shows a filter/x-over setup for this speaker as a 25uF non-polarized capacitor, followed by an "inductor", followed by a 4.7 Ohm resistor.

Any clue what type(specs) of inductor would have been used?

It may be immaterial to some degree as I'm going to attempt to use this speaker "full-range" but in the end I'm sure it doesn't have the bottom end capacity just looking at its construction. So I might want to roll off the bottom.

Little Al. the manual you are referencing is from the 1966 Custom Electra. E-491. The C.E. VI used the M-118 mid. Still a 5". I imagine it was probably the same speaker or very close to the 135.

As for the inductor, haven't got a clue.
