Fisher stereo dimension balance failure?

I’ve read this is a failure prone pot. Messing around with mine I don’t really hear much of a difference in “dimension”. Im assuming this is a stereo separation control? I’ve also read this can be replaced with a 400c balance pot but I’m not sure how wiring would work. Any info on this? I haven’t ohmed out the pot or anything yet just trying to get some info.

The balance works fine can I just wire it to maximum separation and bypass the dimension control all together?

Actually I think I answered my own question I can just remove it from the circuit.

The pot is specially made so that in the full stereo position, it is removed from the circuit.
