Fisher Tuner / B&O Turntable matchup

I'm looking for a little guidance with using my existing Bang & Olufsen 1700 Beogram with a MMC 20EN with a Fisher tuner. The Fisher recievers have a Phono Low for a MM which is listed at 4.4 mV and a Phono High with 14mV which I belive is for use with a MC. I think the Phono high won't work, and am not sure if the low is a decent match either.

How can I tell? The Beogram is listed as
> 0.6mV/47k ohms
> 2.12mV/47k ohms

Any thoughts or "teaching" me how to tell if this will work would be apprecaited.

Phono high is not for a MC. It is for a crystal or ceramic cartridge. And a Fisher tuner it is most likely not, those don't have phono. Most likely a Fisher receiver.

Thanks for the correction; yes I'm talking about a Fisher Receiver (400, 500, 800); a 400 in particular.

Yes, Crystal or Ceramic cartridge here. When the Fisher was new, there were some of the Ceramic cartridges with hi-fi credentials in use. Like the Sonotones, the Euphonics and the Grado and more. The 400 is a nice receiver, my first exposure to good hi-fi.

Use the phono low. That 4.4mv number is sort of the max input level that it wants to see before you overload it. At 2.2mv, the volume may be a little low but it will work OK. Worst case, it just won't sound that good and you'll need an external phono preamp to get it mated up properly.
