These are rare totl from the great days of Fisher. Of this series, this is the only model actually manufactured in-house and not outsourced to Hecht's company though it used his drivers.

The woofer and midrange should still be good while the Hecht tweeters like and in the case most probably either is toast or way out of spec. Bill in discussions with him some years ago flatly stated while his tweeter was as good as it got back then, today any decent one will trounced it. Add caps and check other crossover components, clean the controls, change the grill cloth and you'll have a killer set of speakers to mate to your tube vintage Fisher amp/receiver.

While the 18" woofer will not go as low as one might assume, it goes low and with ease that shows up smaller drivers that have to push to get down there. PLUS nothing like bragging rights to showing off an 18" woofer in a world where 6" is now common.

you might be able to pick these up pretty cheap because it is listed in "arts and crafts by owner". There is a pretty good chance he gets no bites. In a week or so, he may respond favorably to any interest you show.

this happens more than you think. Also, typos are not uncommon. I picked up a pair of Klpish tweeters for my La Scalas for 10$ on the bay. They needed new diaphragms but that is pretty cheap. I was the only bid he got because of his typo.

I have a pair of these awaiting restoration. They have 2 tweeters per cabinet and as Brian points out - expect to replace these. They weigh about 100 pounds each. The asking price seems high, to me.

Yeah, from what I've read so far, they should be around $100 in this condition and $200 in good to great condition. I read the 18" is very nice and effortlessly handles what many 12's and 15's have to work for, but doesn't hit as low as most other 18's will. Also read plenty about the bad tweeters... sounds like a speaker I'd toss an offer at in a couple weeks, if they aren't picked up by someone else.
