Fisher XP 60 speakers

Looking at a set online. Any suggestions on how they sound (claim is excellent condition) as the price of $300 for the set is a lot of money to me. I only have a relatives opinion to go on. Thanks everyone for your help and advice.

I'm going to point you to the Fisher XP reference thread, which mentions them. Personally I wouldn't spend anywhere near that amount of money on them, there are much better alternatives available, even if you have to buy through eBay.

That's a good speaker for introduction to stereo. You get them from the thrift store. For about the price of a premium hamburger meal on the way home.

Not sure about the XP-60, but I have owned the XP-56S back in high school. They were strictly entry level, and nothing to write home about.

Fisher started going downhill in the 70's, as that linked Fisher reference thread details, and a good portion of their speaker line was nothing special to begin with. The $300 asking price for any Fisher speakers from that era would be so better spent elsewhere, IMO.

Like others said, it sounds like a lot for those. I have a pair of Fisher XP-65k (I think they are similar to the XP-60) on craigslist for $60 and no bites for going on 2months.
