I like the "Avant-Garde" ESL-57... but the hippie-guy looks like he's using the trash can for a... commode. That's disturbing.

That company used to advertise often in the National Lampoon as did many other hi fi companies back in the 70s. The Baby Boomers were going to work and coming into some dough and hi-fi was a big deal.

Up here in Canada, Rectilinear had an interesting sales pitch. Within one year of purchase you could trade in your Rectilinear model for full credit towards a better model in their line up.
