Five Favorite Science Fiction TV Series - Mine and Yours

I must have missed this thread?!

In no order:
Babylon 5
ST: TOS
Firefly
Twilight Zone
ST TNG (poor Worf, nobody listened to him, but he had some great one liners!)

B5 is one in the can't decide category which also includes Battlestar Galactica (2004), Humans, Mr. Robot, Orphan Black, Person of Interest. STNG and STDS9.

1) Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Didn't like it during its initial run but saw it years later and appreciated that it was one of the first shows to have season arcs. Some of the best writing in all Star Trek occurs from season 4 through 7
2) Doctor Who. While there are clunkers - over many years - the highs were exceptional from classic series to the modern post 2005 era
3) Star Trek: The Next Generation. Once Riker got the beard the show was generally very good. Albeit the writing in DS9 was superior the characters felt like your extended family in space.
4) Star Trek: The Original Series - how could it not be in the top 5? Spock, Bones, Kirk - without this there would be nothing to follow.
5) Battlestar Galactica (2004) It felt fresh if somewhat repetitive.

Honourable mentions: Quantum Leap (original) and the new Star Trek: Strange New Worlds which is the only good Star Trek since DS9. If the following seasons are as good as the first it has a decent shot to be very strong. I like that the series is episodic and not season arcs so that if there is the odd weak episode it is soon forgotten.

I also liked parts of Star Trek Voyager but the show never seemed to know what to do with half the cast. If the episodes focused on the Doctor or Seven of Nine - it was generally very strong. If it focused on anyone else - it was usually a clunker.
