My father had a Dual 1219......Sanyo Receiver, Sansui Speakers and my brother and I would jam our KISS albums in 70s on that thing at top volume. Using the record stacker to keep from having to put away our air guitars. LOL My parents moved and brother stored his system....and when I went to get it to restore it all and use as my second system...nobody knew what happened. So was torn between getting another Denon to match my main system (DP59L) that I bought new in mid-80s....or find a DUAL. Then I find video by Skylabs Audio interviewing him. I sent him a message giving the info I remember about the turntable...as was not entirely sure if really a 1219...or another 12xx series as he bought it middle to late 1960s. Settled on getting a 1219 and stopped by on a pheasant hunting trip from east coast to nw Iowa... Drove home on my way back 10 days later with a refurbished Dual 1219 with custom walnut base, new lid, Ortofon Alpha cartridge and high quality RCA cables. Just hooked up today...put on Led Zepplin II....and wow, it brought back memories. I cant recommend Bill N. enough...nice to a fault, wealth of knowledge, meticulous in his work, and he sat there and went through everything in mechanics as well as setup. Couldnt be happier.
At moment in my messy home office sitting on my Pioneer SX-680 driving a pair of Klipsch KG-2 speakers. Putting a component shelf on my stand to elevate the tt a bit above receiver and to give more stability..... Still have not removed protective paper from dust cover from Bill yet...haha.
