The amount of mercury in a flu shot is borderline nonexistant, and in the increasingly popular and slightly more expensive single-dose phials is not required at all. The apparent danger of thiomersal is based off of the six-week half life and bodily collection rate of methylmercury, which is actually irrelevant: thiomersal is actually an ethylmercury, with a half-life of under a week and readily disposed of in poo.
The "autism is caused by vaccines" effect is coincidence. Numerous vaccines are given to babies at almost exactly the same time that symptoms of autism are expected to manifest; saying thiomersal causes them is like saying that the tetanus booster given to sixteen-year-olds is what causes them to get in so many traffic accidents.
Also, please consider what happens if you don't give your kid a vaccine. When a suitably large fraction of the infant population - somewhere around 10-15% - is not vaccinated, the chance of a potentially lethal infant disease becoming an epidemic skyrockets. It's a sort of a domino effect - if enough children are not vaccinated that any given child has a good chance of passing the disease to another unvaccinated child, measles, mumps, rubella, or several other potentially lethal diseases will spread like wildfire.
Finally, I severely doubt the credentials of several people on that site. Growing up, a good friend of mine was autistic, and I take offense at the idea that autism can be cured with medication as several linked sites suggest. Autism is a complete re-wiring of the brain, not a simple disease like narcolepsy, and most autistic people are able to go off and have successful, independent lives.
