Fluid Damping?

I have a Jelco 750D tonearm that has the ability to use damping fluid.
The cartridge I have on this arm is a DV 10x5, which has a compliance of 12.

Would adding damping fluid to the arm gain me anything?
I can tap on my plinth (which has mortite underneath covering the bottom) and hear the tapping through my speakers.

Will adding damping fluid to the arm reduce this?

Yes, fluid damping makes a cartridge sound it's best.

I would definitely use the fluid dampen on the Jelco SA-750D. Follow the instructions. Pick out a recording that has a wide dynamic range, vocals are nice to test also. You'll have to play that same track over & over with different settings. Use headphones, you can hear much more differences. With the correct setting, the bass will increase and be more defined. Soundstage will improve (wider). Everything will have it's own place within the soundstage. Midrange will be much more defined. High frequencies will be light and airy. By turning the knob on top of the pivot housing your controlling the arm's dampening. The instructions tell you have much fluid to put in.

I have a SME 3009 II Improved arm that has the FD-200 Fluid Dampen Kit. Every cartridge that I've used sounds much better! Each cartridge requires a different amount of fluid, and paddle (SME uses 3 different size widths).
