FM tuner issue - 80s Sony Boom box

I saved this boombox from the dump.
Sony CFS-W360

The deck A works perfect. Deck B runs fast and yes I have the motor speed adjustment turned down. Recording on deck B works just fine.

I can tell the amp section works just fine.
AM sounds just fine but the FM tuner cuts out the left channel when it get a signal, the left channel is sputtering in when scrubing for a station but, when I get a signal the channel cuts out.

Should I go ahead and replace the caps in the tuner section or is it just a lost cause?

Try cleaning the tuner carefully.

Try cleaning the tuner carefully.

Its got an electronic tuner section. It does not have a variable capacitor in the RF section.
