FMI Fulton Musical Industries J modular.... How will they stack up?

WmartinB

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL NICE
I am eyeing a pair of Fulton Musical industries - Original J modulars with the multi panel electrostat panels - Nice condition

The price is fair, I am just wondering how they would stack up against my other speakers.

There seems to be a few posts about fulton speakers - I was wondering if any AK gurus can offer some impressions

Did you end up getting them!?

While I definitely haven't heard a lot of high-end speakers, these are my absolute favorite for accurately reproduced music. To me, they really don't have a weakness in sonics (when working correctly) and their ownly downside besides possibly maintenance is their size. Luckily, they somewhat breakdown so moving them isn't quite as hard

Fulton J modulars are the best speakers I have ever heard, time does diminish comparison - but for minds eye, definitely the best.

+1

I hung out at a Fulton dealer for about a year back in the day. It got to the point I was allowed to put on any record I wanted and the "J"s sounded great with anything I put on, from Funk to Beethoven. They are quite large and takes a large room in order to show what they are about. Luckily they are much more efficient than the Infinity speakers that I thought were second best.

I ended up passing on the pair that was offered to me - the cabinets were too far gone - they were stored for the last 20 years in a damp basement and had water damage/smelled like mold.

I probably would have bought them otherwise, the seller was firm on $300 which would have been a good price.

There is a pair on flea bay that has been up for a while, if another set pops up locally I'd definitely drive to check them out.
