Focal Aria 905

Off topic a bit, but am wondering about the other two Focal "bookshelf" speakers, specifically the Chorus 705 or 706. Can these also live on a bookshelf or do I need stands to get optimum performance??
 
Would the Marantz PM 6005 integrated amplifier have any trouble driving the Focal 905,even though it only has 45 Watts?

No it won't but it does affect how loud you will be able play them before the amplifier runs out of gas and clipping occurs.
 
System would be set up in small living area don't plan on playing at very high volumes. how do determine how much watts is enough when buying speakers ?

Was set on purchasing Focal 905 but was reading and was informed the recommended room space for the Focal was 107 sq feet, which is not a large space. The listening area where my system will be placed is 200 sq feet. Would the Focal 905 be too small for this area and would sound be compromised? Since speaker will be near a wall need to keep with front ported speaker. Went to listen to a pair of B&W 685 and maybe would be better fit for this size room. Really like the sound of the Focal 905, but dont want to purchase a speaker that is too small for room as well. Any opinions?
 
You might be overthinking this.

The reality is that you really need to try in your own space.
 
Contacted MD and asked about the focal for my 10x12 room and they thought it was a good fit. Was looking at the larger 705 and 706 but MD still liked the smaller 905 for the room

Joe, did you ever find out what an appropriate amplifier would be for the aria 905s? I've been eyeballing them myself and don't want to get an amplifier with either too little or too much power. I don't really want to talk to sales folks until I'm armed with a little bit more knowledge.
