Focal Chorus 816v

Hello. New member here. I have the chance to purchase a set of Focal Chorus 816 V for $150.00. One of the speakers has a blown tweeter. (assuming, due to it not working)

Does this appear to be a good deal?

I plan to run them on a Marantz 2238b.

any advice would be appreciated.

I own a pair of these. Extremely good speakers, but the only replacement for a blown tweeter is a factory replacement (available from Audio Plus Services), and it won't be cheap.

Thank you for the response. I called someone in Canada and the replacement is $70.00. Not to bad overall in my opinion. If it’s a crossover issue it’s going to be around $125.00

Overall you are happy with the speakers though? I haven’t found toooo much info online regarding these.

Well, they've been my main speakers for fifteen years, with no desire to change, so what does that tell you? Seriously, they're the best speakers I've ever owned. I used to be in the biz, and had the opportunity to listen to many different brands before settling on these. They replaced a pair of PSB Stratus Silvers, and the improvement was dramatic. Well worth the effort to repair.
