There's someone who posts refurbished Japan origin turntables on youtube called captmark09. He relubes and recaps them and they ship from US. I haven't bought from him yet but if you are thinking about getting something over $500(and something that has a complicated electronically controlled arm--like a Denon or a top of the line JVC) I'd probably go with someone like him.
Of captmark09 or Unisound?

I bought from Unisound, a SP10 MKII. Did not get charged any custom fees. Was a very good transaction.
I’ve given some serious consideration to buying from Unisound and decided to stay away. I just feel like there’s a lot of potential for disaster.

I bought my fully restored and recapped Kenwood KP990 turntable from CaptMark and could not be happier. He talked to me multiple times on the phone and the table was was shipped ridiculously bomb proof. The KP990 is a heavy table and Mark packed it even better than I could have imagined.
I’m still using the 990 and it runs like a champ.
I’d definitely vouch for Mark.
EDIT: I thought Unisound was an overseas seller (Japan). If Unisound is Mark then I retract my criticism. Mark is the best.

I've purchased 3 turntables from Unisound in the last couple months, all came packed bomb proof in the same condition as advertised. I'm very pleased with their service. Received Japan to Florida in 7 days. No import charges or fees. All of the turntables they offer are 100 volt so you'll need a step-down converter if you're running 110~120 volt like me. I ordered them from Reverb.com to avoid ebay taxes and fees. See attached AK links for unboxing photos...

Does he have some less expensive stuff than he posts or is what he posts basically what he has?
I contacted him before I bought a technics Sl-D2 from ebay and he does have less expensive stuff. I would have bought the Sansui that he had but it was only manual.
And now I have 2(actually 3) turntables and 2 that I use in my system so I'm not contacting him because it would be a waste of his time.

Unisound is a very good seller, my SP10MK2 came very well packed and as described.

I think Capt Mark has been selling turntables for a very long time. Unisound is relatively new. I used to buy phono cartridges from him, before he learned what they were worth, I think it was when he first started out on the the auction site, and he was selling more than just audio. I don't recall any problems from the transactions back then.
