Foo Fighters concert in NZ shakes the ground!

I saw the crystal method at the HOB in chicago in the late nineties and the bass was crazy, low:yippy: So low that the pitchers of beer were vibrating across the bar:D

Yikes:yikes: probably not too good for the old eardrums.

Exactly... This is why I wear earplugs whenever I go see a band play. They act like a filter for the high and low-end and keeps the overall sound from becoming a muddy, undefined mess. Makes it much-easier when I'm playing onstage too... Easier to stay in perfect time with the bass-player and drummer when the guitars aren't so-muddy and in your face (plus you ears don't get bombarded with TOO-MUCH bass).

No we didnt do this concert, put in a tender but it went to the opposition......

This occurrence is actually very common for large concerts in New Zealand, when you have 50,000 people jumping up and down at the same time on the kind of ground we live on here, a lot of reclaimed land, and the density of the earth here, porous volcanic earth for example....
The earth literally does move, Ive experienced many many times at large outdoor concerts here at that particular venue which is a clay 1/4mile speedway oval....
Last time we did Robbie Williams 2004......65,000 people going nuts.....bloody earth was a shakin' that time....
Rolling Stones in 2005 I think it was......same thing....Since then I haven't put a system in that venue.....

Its just crazy how the media make out it was the sound that caused the shaking....Absolute garbage!!

Im perplexed as to why the media made a story about it.....maybe there was not a lot of other news that day...:scratch2:

That's the media for you. When there's no disasters to cover, they blame a rock band for causing the earth to shake. Then again, this is the Foo Fighters, who are known to create some of the best "earth shaking" modern rock.
