For my 10,000th post I just want to say...

All this time, I thought your moniker was a cheap knock0ff of the Van Halen logo. :D ;) Congrats on 10k, that's a lotta posts. :thmbsp:

You, like so many of the people here, are what make AK AK. Thoughtful and provocatively insightful, leavened always, with a light touch of self deprecation. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words everybody. If any of you are ever in Chicago, give me a shout. I live right downtown, and drinks are on me. Parking...well..that's a problem.

<ssssssssssssssssssssss>*POP*Your posts *crackle* sound better *POP* on vinyl...inyl....inyl...inyl...inyl...*POP* than on CD.

Sorry Ken, couldn't hear you over the surface noise. :D

John, keep 'em coming. The common sense and well thought out nature of your posts makes them a joy to read.

Congratulations! :thmbsp:

...and keep 'em coming. Here's to the next 10K! :beerchug:

Thank you.

I'm not sure what I've yapped about to get that many posts but I apologize for all the run-on sentences, the hundreds of asides that I put in my writing (like this one right here), the missspellled werds, and my tendency to be long winded. ...

:scratch2: ... I could have written that exact same statement! :D

What's the deal with the whole friggin' place being taken over by you great-lakes guys?

Oh, congrats on the 10k.

Murray

GREAT Lakes? ... Oh, yeah, I remember those little puddles. Heck, you should see the body of water on Hong Kong's doorstep...
:D

And if they're taking over the place, it might be because there is nothing else to do there in the old winter months, and lately there is even less to do than usual, thanks to the down economy. I say cut the poor guys some slack, and let them keep "taking over". :D

Arkay hit the nail on the head. There's not much else to do here but spend long hours playing with audio gear and yappin' about it. Doesn't hurt that there's so much of it around here...though nothing like the mysterious and legendary Hong Kong audio shops where all of the holy grails and Loch Ness monsters of audio-land end up.

Also having a job where I'm on the internet all day doesn't hurt.
