As mentioned, Bartertown is the only area buying and selling is allowed in.
$25/year for access to it and some other "hidden" areas.
I am "selling challenged" so when I pay my $25 I figure I'm helping to keep this place up and running.
I have bought a couple items in Bartertown, and have for sure got more than $25 worth of help and information from this place.
Heck, if you ask a question and get answer(s) that help you fix a problem you already saved a bench/diagnostic fee.

As said, Bartertown is one of the perks of subscribing. Well worth in IMO even if you don't use it. There's a lot to learn here and most everyone gives knowledge freely and happily. You'll get your $25 out of it before you know it.
