Ford F150 ecoboost engine

My daily driver Ranger is dying and I have been looking at 2012 Ford F150 supercrew pickups.
I have a choice between the twin turbo ecoboost or 5.0 V8 as they both get similar mpg.
The ecoboost is supposed to be a highly spirited engine but at the cost of more complexity/reliability long term?
I do some medium to light towing with my Yukon which I'll also be liquidating along with the Ranger.
Any opinions/experience with the ecoboost engine?
Thanks , Bob

My buddy has one and loves it, he pulls a decent size camper behind it most weekends with no issues. He and his wife just took it to Colorado had no issues said it ran great. His is brown like a root beer brown pretty color looks sharp. I want one. :(

They run very strong, incredible acceleration for a full size pickup. Don't expect good fuel economy while towing with the EcoBoost, 11-13 with a large boat. Expect about 19 average without towing.

I haven't been in a 5.0 powered F150, but I'd bet it can move too. I'd take the 5.0 just because the TT V6 sounds terrible. :D

The guys that pull RV's love the Ecoboost F150. The truck can be ordered with tow mode, rated to pull 11,000, and has selectable engine braking. Jailtime's mileage numbers are right along with what I've heard. Even my 9 yr. old F-250 has pretty good fit and finish, I bet Ford has improved with that. If you have passengers, the crew cab is the one to get.

I think about all the forced induction fuel injected Fords of past and I have warm and fuzzy feelings.

Turbocoupe, Supercoupe, Merkur, Terminator, Lighting, etc etc etc etc etc etc ...

Ford builds forced induction vehicles quite well. They have always been on the leading edge of technology ... for a domestic car company.

The interior in the F-150 Lariat that I drove is just beautiful. It has more features than my Cadillac. Every bit as attractive and comfortable too. I'd almost be scared to use it for truck duties.
