Former teenage audiophile jumping back in at 60, need some help getting started.

Hi all, really appreciate all the expertise and experience in this forum. Lurking for a few weeks has brought back some great memories of riding my bike to drool over gear I could never dream of owning at Pacific Stereo, and the system I saved two years to buy.

Now, even though I lost 90% of the vinyl I've been dragging around for 40 years with no gear to play it on in a moving disaster, I've decided to jump back in.

I've acquired a receiver and two pairs of speakers. Where is the best place to post questions about what tools I need and techniques to get started repairing/restoring some 70's/80's gear?

Greetings and welcome to AK! There is a Solid State forum where you can get answers to restoring and repairing vintage SS. Also check out the manufacturer specific forums if you have a like brand piece. Tube gear folks hang out at the Tube forum.
 
Welcome…you’ll need to be a little more specific on what you’d like to tackle, in terms of your repair goals, and what equipment you’re targeting. Lots of 60-something’s on this board that share your memories/goals here. Googling questions, with the term “audiokarma” in your query is a good/simple way to start your education here, just as a recommendation. Tons of great information available to navigate through, literally years, and hundreds of thousands of posting that will likely help you get started…
