Forte 00's

Previous owner of these (and he's a pretty knowledgable audiophile) is telling me these are 4 ohm speakers. Kilpsh site ... specs say 8 ohms. Sticker still on the back simply says Klipsch Forte 00's.

If they are 4 ohm, any problem running them with Kenwood Eleven II---80wpc/8ohms................?

From my knowledge, Forte's are 8 ohm speakers. I have heard that some early foreign models were listed at 4 ohms though. I would bet they are all 8 ohm since they state that on the klipsch information page. Your big kenwood will have no problem pushing those.

Klipsch crossovers do nothing to address driver imbalance.

The stock forte woofer (k23) 3.6 ohms dcr. the mid driver(k53) about 11 ohms and the tweeter is 6 ohms measured.

Plots that I have seen shows the impeadence is all over the place.

There are some aftermarket XOs that can provide a more balanced load for the amp.

Years ago I blew a transformer in a Kenwood 150 wpc ss driving Forte Is and Heresey IIs even tho the amp was set for 4 ohms.

I leave my HK Citation 24s set to 4 ohms because they will run hot when set to 8 ohms.
