Forte PR surround repair

Hi all,

In beginning a recap of my Forte's, I noticed a small tear (~1") in the rubber surround on the passive radiator.
I know the proper repair to to replace the surround but as this is only the PR and not all that critical to sound quality, I was hoping to repair it until I can get them replaced.
I was thinking that rubber cement would work on this repair but I'm curious if there's another product others have tried to repair a rubber surround. Thanks in advance!

I used rubber cement and tissue paper on my KG 5.2 1.5” tear and it worked fine.

I'd go with silicone sealant,

It dries flexible and lasts forever. Just don't put it on too thick (or worry about how it looks or how smooth it is).

Can you post a pic of the tear? If its not too big & the rubber is still intact to where the torn area goes back together, the best option is to repair it from the back side so its not too visible. A good 100% silicone caulk will work better than rubber cement, but what I have used & suggest for things like this is an automotive silicone RTV from permatex called ultra black, it goes on nice & smooth, can smooth or feather it out with a wet finger and most of all its very strong & stays flexible indefinitely. Can find it at all auto parts stores or even walmarts for about $5. I've repaired rubber & foam woofer surrounds with it 10-20 years ago that get lots of abuse at loud volumes, still holding good today.

I have done the same thing on 2 different speakers. It's the best solution. And I have a pair of Klipsch passives in stock, and I could part with one of them if YOU need.
